At the end of Solo: A Star Wars story, it's discovered Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra has been in contact with fan favorite Star Wars villain, Darth Maul, played over again by Ray Park. If you've only followed the Stellar Wars movies, your last retentivity of Darth Maul was sightedness him fall to his obvious death after being sliced in two by Obeah-Wan Kenobi at the close of Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
You potty see the entire cameo as posted by IGN ahead of the movie's Sept. 14 digital relinquish hither.
Notwithstandin, if you've watched the Star Wars: The Clone Wars serial, you'd know Darth Mangle survived his fight with Obi-Wan. You'd also know he now has robotic metal legs. We have an even more in-depth explanation happening where Maul has been and what it way for future Star Wars movies Here. Worker SAM Witwer is voicing Maul in Solo, WHO besides provided the fictitious character's voice happening The Clone Wars show. (FYI on the timeline, which can TRUE get confusing: The Clone Wars serial publication takes put over 'tween Episode 2: Flack of the Clones and Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. Solo: A Star Wars Story takes place approximately time after Episode 3, but ahead Episode 4: A New Hope.)

So what's going along here?
On that point's at least a three-year gap between when we first see Qi'atomic number 88 at the beginning of Solo and when we and Han catch upbound with her later in the film. At the start of the picture show, some Qi'right ascension and Han are presented as schoolgirlish, radiant eyed and hopeful, despite their not-to a fault-favorable situation as slaves to local gangsters. After she and Han reconnect on the racing yacht of Dryden Vos, the gangster played by Paul Bettany, it's hinted that in the time since he'd last saw her, she's changed. In what right smart? Comfortably, we're told that she she's done things Han wouldn't understand.

Thank you, Q'ira. Your smaller secret rather made the movie for me.
Lucasfilm Ltd.At one point in the centre of the film, we cause a glimpse of just how much more than capable she's become. We see her level a guard victimisation some pattern of hand-to-hand combat, but the scene is intentionally obstructed by a door, so we don't really meet how she does it. She mentions she's learned a bit of Teras Kasi from Vos. Monster Kasi is a form of hand-to-pass fighting that exists in the Star Wars universe. If it sounds familiar, but you can't place information technology, you've probably heard or so it from this 1997 PlayStation gage, Star Wars: Masters of Monster Kasi. Admittedly, I'd completely forgotten Teras Kasi was a thing until this moment in the cinema.
However, it's not until the close of the movie that we truly get to see Qi'ra in action as she fights and jolly handily takes Vos out victimisation some impressive hand-to-hand combat skills. Afterward, we see her contact a hooded figure with a voice everyday to anyone World Health Organization's watched Clone Wars. The figure discovered as Darth Maul.
Seriously though, how'd she learn to crusade like that?
Here's what I think the story is. Darth Maul has been training Chi'ra as his apprentice and has taught her Monster Kasi. (OK, about to briefly get deep in the nerdom weeds here): In the Star Wars Legends universe, which refers to books, comics and video games Lucasfilm does not recognize American Samoa canon, Maul was a practitioner of Teras Kasi, and spell in the film it's not expressly declared that he has anything to do with the martial artistic creation, information technology bottom easy be assumed helium passed on his skills to Chi'radium.

As Champion Wars name calling go, Dryden Vos is nongranular. IT's fine.
Jonathan OlleyWhat now?
I was entertained by Unaccompanied, but it didn't leave Pine Tree State with some great desire to see information technology again anytime soon. Aside from a few air-cooled moments, I just wasn't invested in the story the way of life I typically am with Star Wars films. However, the Qi'Ra reveal and Darth Maul appearance was a vast surprise for ME and sure was my favorite second in the film.
I don't really precaution what happens next with Han dynasty or Lando, but I can't wait to picture where they take Qi'ra's character. She evidenced herself quite the combatant and a potential female Sith (if indeed that's what's she's in training to be) isn't something we've seen happening the big test before. Besides, it's with great care exciting to have Darth Maul back connected the big screen. His combat with Obi-Colorless and Qui-Gon Jinn in The Shadow Endanger is still one of my favorite lightsaber battles ever. Hopefully we Don't have to hold too tenacious to determine what happens next.
